Internship/Dissertation topics
Students have the opportunity to carry out their Master's Dissertation in the following areas:

Dissertation work can be inserted:
- In ongoing research projects at the DEQ/IST Research Centers, in the following areas;
- In partnership with a national/foreign company/university, which is a very enriching experience both academically and personally, in some cases providing an employment contract:
Portugal: Secil, Cimpor, Galp, Repsol, Hovione, Iberol, Bondalti, Exide, Generis, Cipan, ISQ, PJ.
Abroad: Michelin, IFPEN, DOW, BASF, Procter&Gamble, DTU, Sorbonne Univ, Politécnico de Milão, EPFL, Univ. Lyon, Univ Ghent.
Financing
- Some companies/institutions offer a monthly stipend/lunch and/or transportation allowance (see offers in the Masters area on Fenix);
- Students can apply for an Erasmus+ Traineeships/Placements grant to support basic costs.
Dissertations in the Business Environment - Form to offer topics
Companies can host DEQ/IST final-year students for a period of around 5/6 months to develop a topic of relevance to the company. Companies are invited to submit internship/dissertation proposals by filling in the form. The proposal of themes follows a specific timetable: dissertations starting in September - until the end of April; dissertations starting in February - until the end of October.
